Life Cycle of a Butterfly

Instructor: Teacher Mei-Ching Yeh

The "Butterfly Tree of Life" refers to the host plant of a butterfly larva. On this tree, the caterpillar feeds, grows, and rests, accumulating energy until it pupates and eventually emerges as a beautiful butterfly. Therefore, the unique Tree of Life for each butterfly species holds a profoundly meaningful significance.

Through educational observations of these Butterfly Trees of Life, we hope to inspire every child to become a guardian angel for butterflies. By focusing on the journey of observation, children can discover the wonders of life, learn to respect our Earth, and appreciate the nurturing care of parents.

Building a Home for Butterflies

Following the observation and care taking on the Butterfly Trees of Life, we hope this deep connection between lives will inspire a profound sense of gratitude in children and ignite their desire to protect the Earth.

From repotting and watering plants to maintaining the butterfly ecological park, there are many meaningful tasks to be done. Working with the soil and nectar plants weaves a harmonious bond between humans and nature, fostering a shared desire for peaceful coexistence. Together, the students are preserving more nectar plants for adult butterflies, dedicated to making the butterfly habitat a truly beautiful home.
